Positive progress by Orienteering newcomers..

The second Learn to Orienteer session was held in Pembrey Country Park in glorious sunshine. The session challenged newcomers to learn some new orienteering techniques such as pace counting, accurate compasswork and understanding contours.

Assisted by club members, Steve Quinton, the coach set out interesting sessions that tested both mind and body, and the morning was rounded off by a Short Score event that saw all trying out a compeititive run against each other. The results of the Score Event are listed below.

Kerina Lake 245 pts | Eugene Prout 205 pts | Freddie Lake 170 pts | William Lake 165 pts | Mike Dobbs 160 pts | Diana McClure 145 pts | Tal and Dai Cox 120 pts | Ann Mitchell 120 pts | Elen & Rebecca Williams 110 pts | Ruth Dye 80 pts | Emily, Jacob, Sarah Lowther 65 pts | Helena Anslow 55 pts | Aled Williams 45 pts | Helen Rogers 30 pts |

The remaing two sessions will see the new orienteers try a change of scenery at Clyne Valley Country Park, Swansea on the 13th April and then Clyne Gardens on 27th April.
