Sport and physical activity provide immediate mental health and social benefits, while having a long-term positive impact on our physical health and Orienteering is extremely well placed to provide a socially distanced and exciting activity for all ages. The parks around Swansea provide excellent opportunities for Orienteering.

Permanent Orienteering Courses

We have produced special orienteering maps all the major Parks in Swansea which you are free to enjoy. All you have to do is download and print a map you are ready to go!
We are also making use of a mobile app which can record your time orienteering via GPS and let you know when you reach each control. You can compare times with others on the app, and it's great fun! Read more to find out all you need to know.

Orienteering using a mobile phone to record your run, "Virtual" Orienteering.

We have a number of Virtual Orienteering Courses where you can use your smartphone to track and time your route allowing you to compete against each other or against other families at any time.
This uses a Free app called Usynligo (from Norway) that tracks your routes via GPS and sends a signal when you have arrived at the "virtual" control you are looking for. It instantly publishes your result times and so you can see how you have got on against others.

In addition to the Permanent Orienteering Courses listed above, we have a number of longer virtual courses setup which were used for events over the Summer by SBOC members. The maps with courses available for printing at home can be found using the links below or by searching for SBOC on the app itself.

If you don't have a printer it is possible to run viewing the map on the Usynligo app, or you can contact us and we can provide you with a copy.

Score Course - visit as many controls as you can, in any order, within the time limit which you choose on the App, 30 or 60mins.
