After a long absence, Orienteering returned to Penllergaer Woods for the first time in many years. The path network and thick vegetation reduced the navigational challenge but none the less mistakes were easily made if you lost your concentration. The club also welcomed the 1st Garden Village Brownies to the event, for their first taste of Orienteering, and judging by the excited chatter and the smiles on their faces when they finished they seemed to enjoy themselves. It was great to have so many youngsters at the event and we hope some of them will return for future events. The Green Course was won comfortably by Ben Mitchell, with William Arnold in 2nd and Ben's brother Sam in 3rd. On the Light Green Course, Diana McClure took advantage of the absence of Katie Lake to claim her second win of the Summer and on the Orange Course Robin Irwin continued his 100% success rate with another victory ahead of Laura Robinson. Full results and splits are Here.

Next event returns to the Gower to run the Nicholaston and Penmaen Burrows on July 7th.
