SBOC played a significant part in the success of the 2018 British Night Championships Weekend.
The Championships themselves were held on ones of the Clubs' best areas, the really technical dune system at Merthyr Mawr. Hard enough during the daytime, the dunes provided a really serious challenge for the best Night Orienteers in the UK.

Roger Stein planned some really tricky courses that started on the high plateau and then criss-crossed the dunes before finishing in the new wooded dune complex.

The club had two notable podium places, Margaret Reynolds came runner up in the W55 class and Ben Mitchell was runner up in the M21E class.

Then this was followed by an excellent event at Pembrey where 300 runners took part in the first UK orienteering League Event of the year.
Planned by Steve Quinton and organised by Allan Lasky the event went really well and all that ran enjoyed themselves.

Thank you to all the club volunteers who helped make the event such a success.
