The clubs second Winter League hit the slopes and high ground of the Black Mountain, also know as Pen Rhiw Wen above Brynaman. As the organiser watched the weather closely, a easing of the rain, but still very windy, allowed the runners to set off into the challenging limestone terrain. With excellent courses planned by Bethan Irwin on her first event, all thoroughly enjoyed the test. The Blue course was won in an impressive time by Ben Mitchell, closely followed by Megan Carter Davies, with a big gap to 3rd place where Freddie Lake came in nearly 12 minutes adrift. Mark Heinrich of Bristol took the Gren Course ahead of Jackie Hallett also of Bristol with Gill Lock of SBOC in 3rd. In a step up from his usual courses, it was great to see 12 year old Robin Irwin see off the stronger runners of Peter O Kane and Laura Robinson to win the Light Green Course.
