It was great to see such a good turnout at our Winter League event in Merthyr Mawr on Sunday, with lots of people trying out the sport for the first time.
Courses took competitors around this wonderfully complex dune system, with the tricky navigation and tough terrain putting people through their paces.
Well done to the course winners - James Morris (SBOC) on the Yellow Course, Nicholas Gale (Ind) on the Orange, Roger Stein (SBOC) Green and Marcus Pinker (FVO) who held off SBOC juniors William and Freddie Lake to win the Blue course.
Our thanks go to planner Gill for all of her hard work both before the event and in putting out controls on the day, despite a sudden family bereavement. It was great to have the Welsh Junior Squad cake stall back up and running and we would like to thank everyone who brought and bought cakes and who helped run it on the day. We would also like to thank the club members who helped out on the day allowing the event to run smoothly.
Results are now up on the website here, don't forget to look over the post race display of results and splits from the event, they are great way of analysing your run. We hope to see you back at an event soon - there is a lot going on with events in Crymlyn Burrows, Afan Argoed Forest, Birchgrove, Pontardawe and Oxwich Burrows coming up in the run to Christmas.
