We're an open and welcoming club, whether you're an experienced orienteer or just starting out.

Membership benefits
There are plenty of perks to becoming a member of Swansea Bay Orienteering Club. As a member, you will:

- Represent the club: Opportunities to represent the club at relay races and club competitions.

By joining the club you will also become a member of the Welsh Orienteering Association (WOA) and British Orienteering, which offers you even more benefits.
British Orienteering membership benefits
- You will pay a reduced entry fee at most orienteering events
- You will be eligible to compete in major competitions such as the British Championships
- Your successes will be recognised through the 'Navigational Challenge' and 'Racing Challenge' incentive schemes
- You can access discounts from our partners a full list of discounts can be found here
- You will be able to score Ranking points at all Regional, National and Major Events(if you are 16 or over)
- You will have access to many resources in the members' section of the website
- You will have Public Liability Insurance when participating in events and activities registered with British Orienteering
- You will be able to receive the monthly member email newsletter
- You can vote at the British Orienteering Annual General Meeting
Welsh Orienteering Association membership benefits
- be eligible to be selected for the Welsh team to represent Wales in Home International Orienteering Championships against England, Scotland and Northern Ireland in the Junior, Senior or Veteran aged teams
- Compete at Welsh Middle and Long Championships
- Compete and support the Welsh 6 Day Orienteering International Festival (every 4 years) Details here
Membership Fees
The fees below include membership to the Welsh Orienteering Association and British Orienteering.
New SBOC members receive FREE SBOC + WOA membership for the first year
i.e. only the British Orienteering fees are payable (senior £15.00 and junior £5.00).
New members also get a free guidebook to orienteering by Carol McNeill
Membership and Renewals are administered by British Orienteering on our behalf.

Senior (£15) – any member aged 26 or older at the end of the membership year
Young Adult (£10) – any member aged 21–25 at the end of the membership year
Junior (£5) – any member aged 20 or younger at the end of the membership year
Family membership offer (£35) – for a maximum of 2 seniors and 1 or more juniors.
British Orienteering membership runs for a calendar year from 1st January to 31st December.
Membership renewals start on the 1st of November. If you are a new member wishing to join in November, then your membership period will run from the 1st of November to the end of December of the following year.
