The club celebrated its first Club night of 2024 at its brand new club venue in Penllergare with a presentation by Megan Carter-Davies on her journey to becoming World Sprint Champion. A full room enjoyed her story from an 8 year old running in a rain coat and wellies to the amazing race in Denmark 2022 when she became the World Sprint Champion. Hopefully this will inspire the youngsters in the room to follow in her footsteps.
We are looking forward to a full winter club night progamme of activities with sessions on Organising and Planning events, as well as sessions on Purple Pen and OCAD sketch. In addition every Wednesday we will run classroom coaching sessions for the club juniors and newcomers. We hope that club members will take advantage of these sessions to improve their orienteering skills and for others to help them take on the work of putting on events in our busy calendar. We would love to welcome anyone interested in taking up orienteering and joining the club.
We were delighted to be the first group to use the brand new Woodland Centre that has been built by the Penllergare Trust for use as an education centre resource. Thanks to the Trust for supporting us in this way.
