The weather was perfect at the Gnoll Country Park in Neath for the 2025 edition of the British Schools Score Orienteering Championships. After 3 years of working with Swansea Schools and Swansea Council it was great to see a good representation from some of our local schools.
With many children orienteering out in the terrain for the first time, the Gnoll was going to provide a very different experience than all the practicing in the school grounds. Nonetheless all children gave their all and appeared to thoroughly enjoy themselves.

Well done to all the winners of all the age classes and in particular a Vince Nagy-Kovacs representing Abbeywood Community School in Bristol who was the only runner to collect all 29 controls in the 45 minute time window.
The winning Primary School was Bishopston Primary and in the battle of the high schools it was Bishopston Comprehensive school that took first place ahead of Ffynone High School.

Well done to all the children, parents and their teachers for in some cases making the long journey to Wales and for all their support and encouragement.
And as always a massive thank you to all the SBOC club members who gave up their saturday to help as marshals, start team, results team and control collectors. A great effort by the club to put on another quality event that ran smoothly and without hiccup.
