Well done to the SBOC team that won the CompassSport Trophy qualification heat hosted by the Quantocks Orienteering Club at Croydon Hill near Minehead and secured our place in the Trophy Final in September.
It was a soggy and windy day and we are extremely grateful to all those who made the long trip to Somerset. Missing some key runners through Injury or illness the rest of the team rose to the challenge with some great results. The 13 scorers and their points were:
100 - Ben Mitchell
100 - Vince Nagy-Kovacs
100 - Freddie Lake
100 - Niall Reynolds
100 - Megan Mitchell
100 - Kerina Lake
98 - Sam Payne
98 - Bethan Irwin
98 - Diana McClure
98 - Esther Woods
96 - Roger Stein
96 - William Reynolds
94 - Rob Woods
Massive thank you to club captain Bethan Irwin for organising us and dealing with all the last-minute changes to the event and the team. The overall scores were
1st Swansea Bay 1278 points
2nd Quantocks 1260 points
3rd Wessex 1259 points
4th Kerno 1242 points
5th Wim 1161 points
6th South Wales 380 points
The final will be held near Redcar in the Northeast and we will need a strong team to take on the other teams who also qualified.
